What is digital cinema ?

Actualizing the not so simple question raised in the 60s by Hervé Bazin,
film critic of the French New Wave, "What is cinema ?", we will try to
examine during this round-table session what influence computers and digital technologies are having on the film form.

Sunday Salon

- 5.30 DATA (Dublin Art and Technology Association)

The Dublin Art and Technology Association (DATA) is an exciting informal forum for artists, technologists, musicians, and academia to promote, explore, discuss, and exhibit art and technology in Ireland and the world. After five successful monthly events (with over 100+ attendees each time) above the Stags Head Pub in Dublin and an expanding emailing-list and website, the group has showcased a large body of work including videos and interactive works by Dublin collective Del9, Eamon Doyle's interactive musical car "Datsincredible", NYC artists Jennifer and Kevin McCoy, Dublin-based artist Anna Hill's space project "Space Synapse", audio/visual artist Tim Redfern, and musical performances by Dennis McNulty (DECAL), Connor Curran (Forwind.net), and Philip Stewart. All DATA events are free to the public and meet every month above the Stags Head Pub in Dublin.
